Help Texans, as well as families and businesses, by supporting Senate Bill 6 and House Bill 3659.

Efforts to extend liability protections to health care providers, businesses, schools, churches, and other entities must be a priority in Texas. Thanks to Senator Kelly Hancock and Representative Jeff Leach, legislation has been filed in both chambers of our Texas Legislature to bring relief to Texas health care providers and businesses struggling with the consequences of the pandemic.
For nearly a year, Texans have faced the greatest challenge of our time. The onslaught of COVID-19 has strained Texas’ health care system, business infrastructure, and educational institutions.
As vaccines continue to be deployed throughout Texas, we can hope for better days ahead. But for now, we must keep our focus on staying safe and mitigating the long-term effects of the pandemic on our state.

No one knows when the pandemic emergency will end, and we simply cannot afford to keep our health care providers and businesses in legal limbo for an indefinite period of time.

The more quickly the Legislature can act and get this bill to the Governor’s desk, the better it will be for the health care workers taking care of us and the businesses trying to provide the jobs and goods and services that we all need.

This legislation is crucial both to our economic recovery and our getting back to normal life. We simply can’t afford to make the pandemic crisis worse by adding a litigation crisis to it.
